In a down economy it is easy to look for ways to make your dollar go farther, but consider this before you go gangbusters clipping coupons.
Your time is money
Is couponing really worth your time? Could you possibly work a few extra hours on a side job each week and make more?
Just spend less
Spend less money on frivolous things and you may find that ends meet just fine without having to go through the coupon process
Some more questions to ask…
Is couponing taking away from the time you should be spending with family, friends or just enjoying life?
Is couponing causing you to spend more, by buying products you really don’t need?
Is couponing taking away from activities which would help you improve your health (saving you a lot more in medical bills than coupons would).
Couponing is great, and a lot of “clippers” do so for charity, but for most of us, couponing, like everything else, is best in moderation.
So next time you are looking for a “deal” ask yourself these questions and remember that those 10 boxes of nasal strips you just scored… weren’t really “free”.
