This Momma Needs her own Man Cave!

October 8, 2010 by val 3 Comments

Before my son was born last year, we spent time not only preparing a baby room, but a man cave for my husband. Our finished attic became his domain. My space had always been the sunroom which is now called “the toy room.”

This momma needs her own space! Over the next few months I will be working to find a creative way to make a “Mommy Man-Cave.”

I am looking for ideas on how other moms have created their own space in the house. Did you plant yourself in the laundry room? Or did the guest room have to go in order to have a home office? Let me know!

Mommy Cave Desperately Yours,
Valerie

Our basement is not “finished.” That is: we have heat and light but not walls or carpet.

Eventually it will be a man cave.

In the meantime, I took over a section and did the best I could with hand-me-down book shelves and my antique desk. That’s where my craft and Sunday School supplies are kept; also some of the Barbie doll collection.

When the “man cave” renovations get done, and they will someday, I will ask that “Mom” gets a spot.

I just have to say how much I laughed when I read this. My son is 5 mths and while we were getting his room together we were also fixing the shed for my husbands “man cave”. I am still myself looking for a place for mine…lol. So I don’t have any suggestions for u. It was just nice to read this and know I’m not the only one who’s husband has a man cave.

Thanks girls! I am working on a couple options – the first would be to make space in the guest room and the second is the laundry room in the basement, but my basement is not finished either…I will keep you posted on my progress!
