Review: Purex with Zout!

March 21, 2011 by val Leave a Comment

This week I tried Purex with Zout and I must say, I am quite impressed.

Purex was kind enough to send me a bottle of their Perfume and Dye free version to try.
My son was kind enough to provide me with some great real life scenarios to test it out.
First is a mesh of food from lunch. I can’t tell you quite what it is as he was at the sitters when he got it on him, but as you can see from the pic its all over and ground into the fabric.
Second is a fig neuton cookie which apparently aren’t as easy for a toddler to eat at you would expect (at least for my accident prone little guy 😉
I did use some additional pre-treater on the cookie stains since it was going to be a few days until I got to it. Even after some pretreater the stain was pretty obvious.
Both outfits came out much cleaner than I thought they would and I am very impressed!
Finally, the third item is courtesy of my cat, who got locked in the sun room for a couple hours while we were at dinner one evening. She was kind enough to substitute her window seat rather than the rug for her litterbox, while she waited for us to get home.
Not only did the Zout get the stain out, but more importantly it got the smell out as well. Sorry, no photo available for this one…you’ll just have to take my word on it 😉

Crock Pot Wednesday – Super Easy Beef Roast

March 9, 2011 by val 1 Comment

It cannot get any simpler than this!

You will need:

  • Beef Roast
  • Garlic Salt

To make this:

  • Put roast in crockpot
  • Cover with garlic salt until meat is white from salt
  • Fill crockpot with water so half of roast in sitting in water.

If you are on a low sodium diet. you may want to use Ms. Dash to replace garlic salt….

Cook on low for at least 8 hours or until the meat is tender.

If you would like to make gravy then use some corn starch to thicken the gravy up or make a rue by using 1 T Butter melted in pan combines with 2T Flour…cook mixture for 3 min and then slowly add liquid from crock pot wisking together each time you add broth to rue mixture.
